About BUMOT
BUMOT started more than a decade ago in Bulgaria with two structural engineers, a passion for motorcycles, and a simple idea: Motorcycle luggage could be built better.
After years spent in conventional engineering, we wanted to create something of our own — something we could design, build, test, improve, and ultimately be proud to put our name on.
What began as a small engineering project gradually became a family business.
Our background in structural engineering naturally shaped the way we approached motorcycle luggage. We focused on strength, materials, construction, and functionality first. Every component had to have a purpose, and every design had to work in the real world — not just look good on a drawing.
More than ten years later, that philosophy hasn't changed.
BUMOT products are still designed and manufactured in Bulgaria, in our own workshop, by a team that follows the process from the first design and prototype to fabrication, welding, assembly, and final inspection.
Over the years, BUMOT has grown from a small Bulgarian manufacturer into a brand used by adventure riders around the world. But behind the products, we remain what we were from the beginning: a family business built by engineers, riders, and people who genuinely care about what they make.
We don't design luggage simply to carry things from one place to another. We build equipment for motorcycles that may travel thousands of miles from home, cross continents, encounter bad roads, bad weather, and the occasional unexpected adventure along the way.

Why BUMOT Is Different
At the heart of the BUMOT system is a simple idea: one motorcycle, one rack system, multiple luggage options.
Our proprietary Quick Release System allows riders to switch between Defender aluminum panniers and Xtremada soft panniers in seconds, using the same BUMOT pannier racks.
No adapter plates. No additional brackets. No loose mounting hardware.
Both systems attach directly to the racks through BUMOT’s proven stainless-steel Quick Release mechanism, providing a secure and stable connection while giving riders the freedom to choose the luggage best suited to each journey.
Built for Strength
BUMOT Defender panniers are handcrafted from 2 mm aluminum, providing increased strength, rigidity, and impact resistance while maintaining a practical weight for adventure travel.
Their fully welded construction creates a strong, waterproof pannier body designed to withstand vibration, rough terrain, drops, and the demanding conditions of long-distance adventure riding.
Hard or Soft — Without Changing the Rack
For long-distance touring, Defender aluminum panniers provide maximum protection, security, weather resistance, and convenient everyday access.
When the route becomes more demanding off-road, Xtremada soft panniers provide reduced weight and greater flexibility while retaining the secure mounting and stability normally associated with hard luggage.
Unlike conventional soft panniers that rely on adapter plates, straps, or additional mounting hardware, Xtremada panniers attach directly to BUMOT Defender racks through the same stainless-steel Quick Release system used by our aluminum panniers.
Installation and removal take only seconds.
Security Built Into the System
Integrated key locks secure the panniers directly to the motorcycle.
Defender and Xtremada panniers can also be keyed alike, allowing riders to use a single key across their BUMOT luggage system.
Designed Around the Motorcycle
BUMOT pannier racks are engineered specifically for each motorcycle rather than relying on a universal mounting solution.
Our exhaust-cut rack designs allow the luggage to sit closer to the motorcycle, creating a narrower, symmetrical, and visually balanced profile while maintaining maximum usable capacity.
BUMOT’s optional rack-mounted toolboxes remain fully compatible with both Defender and Xtremada luggage on supported motorcycles, adding secure storage without compromising pannier installation.
